On July 23rd, 2018, SIP Lvse Jiangnan Public Environment Concerned Centre (hereinafter referred to as “PECC”) found that there was a vehicle transporting dangerous chemicals near Zhiwei Road in Precise Chemical Industry Zone, Qiandeng Town, Kunshan City, Suzhou (see Figure 1 for the specific location), and there was an unidentified liquid dripping on the right side of the rear of this vehicle (see Figure 2 for details).

Subsequently, PECC found that the vehicle drove into a factory, and a large number of intermediate bulk containers containing hazardous waste were piled up in the open air in the factory. Hazardous waste should be stacked in a special hazardous waste warehouse with anti-seepage measures (liquid hazardous waste). At the same time, PECC also found that there are large orange-yellow corrosion marks on the road at the entrance of the factory, which is suspected to have been leaking from vehicles transporting hazardous chemicals for a long time. The details are shown below.

On July 26th, 2018, PECC submitted the “Description of Violations of Enterprises and Vehicles Transporting Hazardous Chemicals in Qiandeng Town, Precise Chemical Industry Zone, Kunshan City” to Kunshan Environmental Protection Bureau.

On August 16th, 2018, PECC received a written reply from the Kunshan Environmental Protection Bureau. The specific content is shown in the figure below.
